On March 25th, 2024, Book Aid Asia teamed up with our strategic partner World Vision Optics (WVO) for a vision screening program at SK Kancong Darat, a primary school in Selangor! A whopping 800 students participated in this free eye check program.
At Book Aid Asia, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn and flourish. Undetected vision problems can create significant barriers to education, making it difficult for children to see the board clearly or read books comfortably. Early detection and correction are crucial to ensure a smooth learning journey.
Through this successful collaboration with SK Kancong Darat's management, we identified 10 underprivileged students who received free eyeglasses. This ensures their vision is corrected, allowing them to participate fully in class activities and delve deeper into the wonderful world of books.
This initiative aligns perfectly with Book Aid Asia's signature program, Book Advocacy for Children's Achievement (BACA). BACA aims to bridge the gap in access to books and foster a love for reading in children. But what good are books if a child can't see them clearly?
The partnership between WVO and Book Aid Asia, established in 2023, reflects our shared commitment to empowering children through education. Together, we play a vital role in their success: WVO by ensuring clear vision, and Book Aid Asia by providing a world of knowledge through books.
This eye check program is just the beginning! We at Book Aid Asia look forward to continuing our collaboration with SK Kancong Darat under BACA and creating a brighter future for these young learners.
