At SK Sungai Jai, a primary school nestled in Lenggeng, Negeri Sembilan, the journey of education begins at a tender age. We firmly believe in igniting the love for reading in these young hearts. Book Aid Asia, in partnership with our dear friends at World Vision Optics (WVO), aims to empower these students through both the gift of good vision and the joy of reading.
For these little learners, every word on the page is an adventure, every story a world waiting to be explored. In a small-town school like SK Sungai Jai, access to quality storybooks may not always be easy to come by. We understand that nurturing a love for reading is pivotal in shaping young minds.
On the 2nd of November 2023, our dedicated WVO team visited SK Sungai Jai for an eye-check program. 100 students, their eyes wide with curiosity, lined up to have their eyesight examined. Out of these, 10 underprivileged students received the precious gift of a pair of spectacles.
Good eyesight is not just about seeing the chalkboard clearly; it's about unlocking the world of words, stories, and knowledge. Clear vision paves the way for better education and, equally importantly, makes reading a delightful experience.
One of our missions is to provide access to storybooks to schools in rural areas, like SK Sungai Jai. We believe that through reading, children can broaden their perspectives and dream beyond horizons. It's about giving them the world in the form of books.
